ABOUT US

Mountain Tigers Basketball Club is one of the largest and most progressive junior basketball clubs in the Knox Association.  We cater for boys and girls across all age groups from Under 8 to Under 23.

Age groups from Under 8 up to and including Under 16 play on Saturdays whilst Under 19 and 23 play on Sunday evenings.

The club has a sound administrative and coaching structure.  We have a Basketball Development Officer and a development program to ensure consistency in the way in which the children are taught the basics of the game. Each season a number of coaches are funded through the Basketball Victoria Level 1 coaching course and there are several experienced coaches available to help those who are taking it on for the first time.

If you are looking for somewhere for you child to learn to play basketball then speak to one of our age group co-ordinators and come along to a training session. You will be made most welcome and will see for yourself why we believe we are one of the most progressive and best run clubs around.

ADAM
PREECE

Adam has been a member of the club committee for many years, serving as the manager of all things training and courts.  This is a massive job each season, working with our court availability and coaches to ensure that every team has the training spot required.  Adam’s impact on the development of our girls program has been paramount to the success that it now is, increasing femal participation in the club from ~24% to ~40% female participation.  Adam’s dedication to the club is second to none.  Adam is a constant for the club being present and available on many training days, skills sessions and even around the courts on the weekends.  The insight he offers to the committee on his learning from member interaction is invaluable.

CLUB VALUES

  • Remember always that children learn best by example - applaud the efforts of ALL players in both teams.

  • Support all efforts to remove verbal and physical abuse from all sports.

  • Show appreciation of all volunteer coaches, officials and administrators, without whom your child could not participate.
